Throughout this semester in CMDP 1400, I found myself learning not just how to create media but how to see media differently. I took this course because I wanted to push beyond simple image-making and understand how technology, space, sound, and digital platforms shape the stories we tell. I didn’t expect it to change the way I move through the world, but it did. I now understand how every frame, sound, filter, and gesture has meaning, how media is less a tool and more an environment that shapes identity, memory, and experience.

One of the most valuable things I learned was how intentionality transforms creative work. Whether I was editing found footage, drawing a Twitter horror story, or designing an interactive hypertext space, each project taught me to make choices with purpose. This course gave me a new sensitivity to the invisible structures behind media and new confidence in my own creative voice.
